Cavity-preventing champions

Dental sealants are affordable and painless. They’re also incredibly effective at preventing decay on the chewing surfaces of kids’ permanent molars and premolars, where 9 in 10 cavities occur. We simply paint a thin, BPA-free coating onto the grooves of the back teeth. The sealants then act as a barrier to food, plaque and acid, which stops decay from developing.

Reduces the risk of tooth decay

Protective dental sealants reduce the risk of cavities in kids’ back teeth by acting like a force field against bacteria, food particles and acids.

Easy to apply

Getting dental sealants only takes a few minutes. The process is simple, well tolerated and completely painless.

Saves time and money

By preventing tooth decay and the need for more extensive treatment, dental sealants can save you time and money.

What to expect when getting dental sealants

We recommend sealing your child’s permanent molars and premolars as soon as they erupt, usually around age 6 and, again, at age 12. Our kids’ dentist will determine when the time is right. She can then apply protective dental sealants at your child’s hygiene visit.

We’ll clean the teeth, use a special solution to prep the enamel and paint on the sealant material. The procedure doesn’t hurt a bit and takes less than 15 minutes. Once the sealant hardens, your child’s teeth will enjoy years of protection!
